steering a on 32 chassis

    i currently have a colum out of a 47 ford 1.5 ton truck.can i use this set up or do i need one out of a 1/2 ton truck? what would be the ups an downs of this box? thanks

    this is a 30 coupe on pinched 32 chassis.

    I don't know much about the big truck boxes, except that it was said here that they have a larger splined pitman shaft that won't fit the popular pitman arms.

    On a 32, most guys using a Ford truck box would use the F1 or later F100.

    If you had a big motor in a 32, like an early Olds with the left side starter, then the F100 lets you use the stock starter. A F1 would not clear it, because the box has the input shaft coming in at a different place, and will hit.
