Tim--tons a fun, but not get'n shi% done in the shop!!!

  6. Sometimes overzealous newbies (or FNG's in old HAMB parlance) can get ahead of themselves and before they know it they're posting a lot of OT stuff instead of getting a handle on what the place is actually about. (Often caused by not reading or understanding the "Read this first" post when registering.)

That, or they burn out and disappear as fast as they came.

Or...there are the ones that take their bat and ball because they didn't get enough slaps on the back for all their over zealous and not on topic posts.

I think that about sums it up, but I could be missing a few other variations.

Welcome aboard ,DDDenny. Alot of days I still feel like a FNG ( giddy ) about this place. If you have been in it for the long haul you sure will find your groove. I'm forever in awe of alot of the guys on here! I spent decades with only a couple buds who kinda "got it". Sure hope I never wear out my welcome. Have fun, Haul ass!

Oklahoma was named after the Oklamoha Indians, but they spelled it wrong on the paperwork and it stuck

Wasent there a user on here who had a signature about: "I will shortly install a breathalyzer on my keyboard", and I've been thinking if you are related.

And sir you might be a LAME Person, or Look At ME person. Nothing wrong with that, if you keep it car related.

Volvobrynk--Thanx, I hear ya loud and clear
Guys (gals too) please know this; I like my Makers Mark just like the next guy, but I get no pleasure in getting sloshed and just spew a lot of mindless drivel just to see my written word on the internet. When a long time lurker finds his voice by signing on with like minded people like yourselves; it's easy to get comfortable. A lot of pent-up thoughts come forth and (good or bad) before you know it you got a rep.
One thing you can count on with me; my input will always be car related. I really did not want to be a L.A.M.E. type, just sharing the things I'm proud of. Hopefully my sense of humor doesn't overshadow my excitement of finally joining the HAMB .
Iv'e witnessed a lot of drama and disrespect over the years from some posters here, these things do nothing but give the HAMB and it's members a bad reputation.
As has been said before; these individuals should take their trash mouth mentality with them back to Yellowbelly.
    Rant over

You're gonna fit in around here just fine.

  23. Just for the record. The name Oklahoma means something like "land of the red man". Not sure what tribe/language it may have originated with. Originally the area was Indian Territory and beside it Oklahoma Territory.
    I know, too much information.................

Ted, The Native American spelling was Quinnehtukqut. With the influx of Europeans the Indians moved north up the Connecticut river and settled in Springfield, Mass were they built motorcycles for many years. Bob

Thank you! Would It be acceptable to say thank you Dick, I bet it's Richard, and only people who likes you, or people who really don't calls you dick.

I'm on the app and can't see
    Signatures.

To the OP, hope I dident came of like a @ss, and I hope you gut the pun and point.

If you do, you got a fighting chance and as long you understand the general rules of the HAMB, and the more "learn as you go"rules.

Like non talk of RR! No talk about religion despite that some people goes more to
FB then church, it's not a religion, and we don't like it that much. Despite

Bonneville being Mecca/the holy land, this not a religion.

You are allowed to call a BBC for a Rat motor, but don't call a BBC power for a RR! Big Mistake.

We don't care much for mustang II front ends or IFS, but if you run on, say it only ones and don't pic it up again.

And there is a Right way a Wrong way, and MY way!

If you remember them, surf a lot on the HAMB, and post visely, you will understand it someday.

    Last but not least:
Best avoid eye contact with an angry HAMBer! And remember to have fun!
