What I want from Brazil is an EmiSul engine - or several for that matter you know, for spares. Dear Santa, I've been really really good!
Yeah we have GM, Ford since 1917(lot of Model A and T around here), Wolkswagen, Peugeot, Citroen, Mercedes(trucks),Honda, Fiat...about 20 different makers producing down here...Many Chevrolet, Ford and even Chrysler Made in Brazil...
Do they still make "A" and "B" body/chassis replacement parts down there? What about Junk Yards...is there any with old Ford iron in them?...
345DeSotto, Here a first junkyard for you... http://www.rs-autosantigos.com.br/ferrovelho/?pag=9&id_fabricante=0&txtbusca=
So, can this engine still be found down there? First a Toyota Hemi and now this! What else is out there?
these cars are definatly different.... after seeing pics of the stuff in the wrecking yard I kind of understand they don't have alot to start with, looks like the tropical weather wrecks havoc on anything metal.
Yes, there are some to sell around here yet...Very nice engines...kind of a V8 60, Hemisferical with modern Ardun heads...This is someoneelse quote: Actaully they are a very much improved version.... the ARDUN heads for the V8/60 had a very complicated valvetrain (used 3 pushrods per cylinder. 2 on the exhaust side and a series of bell cranks..)and didnt perform well at high RPMS. the Brazilian engine uses a conventional 1 pushrod per valve. not to mention the Brazilian engine has superior machine work, better valves/ports/chamber size...not to mention a V8/60 ARDUN is 105hp and a Brazilian OHV is 140hp (w/a single 2v carb)
hehehehehehehhehe...Not exactly, jonzcustomshop, people over here have a very capitalist behavior of changing cars every year..so the majority dont care about those old beautiful cars..they want the brand new Honda or Audi !...By the way the ones in the extreme right in the pictures are Simcas the ones wich had the Emisul Engine!
I read that too... And I'm wondering about a french aluminum block with some of those brazilian aluminum hemi heads myself!!!!!!
