Was at my parents' house this weekend and started scanning some of my dad's photos from when he was younger.

Here's him and my grandmother and the '32 he bought for $600.00:

His '32 three-window and a couple other CARBS cars at the Hartford show:

A pretty interesting lapel pin I found while I was there:

very neat. I've never heard of either of those two organizations. It'd be interesting to see if anybody has any history on them.

Cool pics, gotta love the New England Scene.

  7. That abbreviated T touring looks similar to the one Kevin Maloney(sp)from the CSRA used to have.I think he was associated with Mickey Lauria from Total Performance for awhile;in fact he may have been a partner. Nice looking cars although for some reason they don't seem familiar.

I'll get the names of the owners from my dad. I know the coupe in the picture in front of the grocery store (the last car in the line-up) was Gene Durocher's. Will also post more pics as I get them scanned.

I think SCATS is mentioned in Square Roll Bars. There was also another timing association in CT if you can believe it. It was called the Nutmeg State Timing Association, I believe.

Good stuff there Cris. Did you or your dad hear of the passing of Billy Mocarsky? He was a good guy & CARBS member.

Wasn't the Southern New England Timing Assoc. the one who ran the Charlestown, R.I. drags? I worked at that track when they were running. Maybe they also ran the Orange, MA drags?

I came from the Hartford area and visited the CARBS garage a couple of times. Never really knew any of the members, went with a friend.
