Starting when I was 16, I would buy the entire back row of used cars from many of the local new car dealerships. I'd keep the coolest ones, sell some of the runners, stripe off parts and stuff for future projects and scap the rest. By the time I was 25 I had over 300 cars and I quit counting. This was over 40 years ago and I have cut back on purchasing considerably since then.
I don't think I can even remeber most, but I currently have 8 cars and 2 Motorcycles at my house, and 2 stashed at my parents house. Some I regret selling 29 Model A, 32 Ford Coupe, 40 Ford Coupe, T bucket, 74 Lotus Twin Cam Europa, 69 Lotus Elan +2, 63 Corvette Convertible.

I'm not sure. It's probably close to 100.I think I'll write it down and figure it out.I have 8 right now so it has to be over 100.I started at 14 with a 54 ford pickup for $75.00,sold it for $200.00.It all started there. My son is 16 and he's had 3 so far.I guess it's in the blood.

I bought my first car in 1972 at age 12 for ten bucks. From that humble beginning, I've owned nearly 750 cars and trucks, three RVs, three collector tractors, two motorcycles, two go-karts, two mini-bikes and one boat. Of all of those, fewer than 50 were non-runners.

Seems to be a theme....... I've had about 600, I drive 99.9% of them, get bored after a week and sell them. Very rarely (if ever) lose money. About 30-40 have been unussual or collector cars of one sort or another. And yes there are a few I regret selling. I guess I'm getting older. I'm down to about 6-8 per year now.
51, did this exercise recalling all of them on a road trip a year or so ago... only owned one of them twice, and still have it... least amount of time owning one car was 30 minutes... most i had was 9 at one time... thats when my parents kicked me out...
My wife and I did a rough list about 10 years ago and it was well over 140 at that time. Right now it's probably close to 200. Most were 60's and early 70's muscle cars and mid 50's cars. I have 6 in the garage/driveway right now. 3 of them are '70 and older (my '38 Dodge is the oldest I have right now). Might be trading the '69 Vette for a '57 Chevy. We'll see - a week into discussions and this one might take a while. I got time.
