I just can't freekin' believe this crap...seems every year the summer gets shorter and the winter gets longer. I've got busted bushes and limbs everywhere and my yard has 15 oak trees that are still full of leaves !!! I'm kind of lucky I guess...talked to my brother at 8 am. He lost power at some point last night...BUURRR.
I am 200+ miles north of NY City. Put the plow on and prepped snowblower Saturday. Woke up this morning and just a trace of white shit on the grass. What a nice feeling.Know there won't be many of those misses coming in the next 5 months. Want to get out of this shithole more every winter. Good luck to you guys south of me,that snow must have been like cement.
Spent yesterday morning doing mandatory fire training. Got home around 1pm took a nap til 3pm and woke up to no power. Reported to my fire station for storm coverage and spent most the night running calls. Today I'm on the watch desk ... No sense in going home. No heat, no hot water, no electricity. Could be more than a week per the power company
Fwiw, we're getting winter weather too. As I type this its a chilly 65, might have to actually put on socks today.
Just got home from my folks place.(central Ma.) A huge maple tree limb,18" thick, came down on their roof then slid onto the deck and took out all the railings. Spent 3 hrs. with the chain saw cleaning up the mess...and they still have no power or phone !!! This shit is at least 2 months early !!!
We got a dozen inches and were "tree locked in" for a day No phone or electricity maybe till the end of the week Roads are passage le and we can get bass for the generator now that a couple of stations have juice. Call 508-248-1555 and leave a message if you need anything shipped Back to the chain saw
I was out late on Saturday night, 31 degrees with a "wintry mix" going on. I parked it around 11 PM and learned that on Sunday someone managed to get killed at 4 AM on Sunday, only a few miles from me. There was some other huge cluster fuck of a multi-car accident with injuries at almost the same time. Bob
