An old drag racer & crew chief that I know has a small Jimmy blower (371?) that used to be mounted on a V-8 60. He offered it to me if I could use it on my flatty powered '35 Ford pickup. It is in great shape, however there is no manifold with it. Will this blower work on a 59A style flathead? Any source of manifold for it? I was talking to him about old McCulluch/Paxton blowers (2 on egay now) and he didn't have very nice things to say about them, however he liked the Jimmy style blower better for high performance applications. Thoughts? I'm currently building another 59A and would like to build a blower motor.

Iceburg, the small gmc blower will do a good job on your 59A, you can get a manafold from Barney Navero. The pully adaption is a nightmare unless you are friends with a good machine shop or can do it yourself.--TV

Another possible source is Vern Tardel. He runs blown flatheads at Bonneville every year.

Look at the thread on "favorite speed equipment". I just put up a picture of a 371-blown flathead.

Besides Navarro and Joe Abbin, I understand that Tony Baron is soon to manufacture a flathead manifold that will accept the 371 and 471 blowers. He is a member of this board, I believe.

Kong Jackson made a decent blower manifold and I think that it might still be available, although I'm not sure who's handling it now that Kong is no longer with us. Also, Tony Barron has a blower manifold that could be adapted. No matter, you're probably going to have do some mods. Also, Joe Abbin is a good source for blower-related pieces.

Dave -- Vern uses a Kong intake topped with a 6-71 blower, a pretty big piece for a Henrymotor.
