Would be cool if someone was sitting on some nice pics of some old school panel vans and vans that are slammed and such. But no pimped' out fur now!

    :D

  2. What are you talking about?

  3. I think he means panel trucks, vans, and sedan deliveries with modified suspension, but no fur or shag carpeting.

I am sitting on such picks- Back issues of "Vantastic" from the seventies- I'm kind of short, and it gets me up to where I can see the computer screen.

Do you mean sedan deliveries and suburbans?
"Vans" are a post traditional hot rod phenomenon, and can't really be "old school" :D

You know, I was thinking the other day after the whole "future of hotrodding" thread and, if things do in fact happen in cycles, it would behoove Ryan to go ahead and start laying out the Vantastic Journal.

Yes I mean sedan deliviries and especially suburbans. But I used vans because I wanted to include the 1961-1967 flat-nose falcons because I like the look of those.

Got my "inspiration" for the post from this pic from the Luau

And that VW is exactly what I mean by a slam van. Seen a couple of cool ones lately ;)

We don't have any Falcon vans over here...used to have a few sedan deliveries...but I think that craze has passed...thank heavens!

And just becuz you saw a pic of a Ford pu on the Luau thread, doesn't mean that's a "traditional" truk for the rest of us. Doubt you'll get much more response than what you've already gotten...

  17. I actually think it would be really cool with a different stance, i.e. LOOSE the rear rake.

I have a 61 standard that is getting slammed not bagged but I think iam going to sell it:( This is what my bus will look like slammed without its paint job but its going back to its original mango/seagull.

I have had pre 59 VW busses for the last 15 years. The last three were hammered and pretty beat, but still kick ass. Seeing a few of these is killin me cause I dont have one anymore. They use to be easy and cheap, now to get one and dump it can cost as much as a nice rod or custom. I still check them out whenever I can.

I have always loved the Transporters and Bus' from VW. I used to own a 21 window that I had dumped with a steering box flip and pop out fronts...wish I had never sold it :(

damn a 21 window, I bet your kicking yourself in the ass for selling that. VW buses are priced like gold now. Looking at some of these hotrods makes me think "is that all they want for that?"

Falcon van is just a higher trim level of the Econoline. 61-67 Econoline and Dodge A100 vans/pickups make great hot rods and customs... and if a 64 car can be traditional, so can a 64 van!
