^^ That one's really decked out with all the goodies. Beyond saving in my book, but a fabulous parts car.

I think this one has been recently saved, hopefully some on the HAMB has it.

68 Cutlass with a trunk spoiler. Not a 442. Ram Rod?

This 1965 Corvair was parked in this spot 41 years ago. When we went to move it it came apart into seven seperate pieces. Needless to say the peieces went straight to the scrapyard. Some sitting and rotting cars have been sitting and rotting far too long and are beyond saving. Sorry. 117_0245.JPG 117_0248.JPG 117_0257.JPG

  25. @Bandit Billy - I saw that too, the 455 license plate tells me someone was parts swapping. Ram Rods were cool.

Mum drove this green Prefect. This is an Australian-built Prefect, early fifties. Dad and Mum bought the black Prefect so that it could donate parts to the green one. The black one is an English-built model, virtually the same as the Aussie-built Prefect except for a couple of main differences: the Aussie had a 'humped' back for the boot/trunk whereas the English one had a flat back; the Aussie prefect had a steel roof but the English one had a fabric insert. Dad must have fitted the English car's gearbox and diff to Mum's car. He repainted her Prefect and I can remember my siblings and I helping him to sand the old paint by hand before the repaint. He wanted to fit the English Prefect's doors to Mum's but I think it was me who pointed out to him the difference in the front doors. Having to keep the Aussie front doors meant that he fabricated galvanised sheet metal patches to cover the rust and fitted them by using rivets. The registration label is on the English Prefect; it expired in October 1968, so Dad and Mum must have bought it at about that time. 008.JPG 010.JPG 013.JPG 006.JPG 007.JPG
