single quad tunnel ram y/n

i have a single quad tunnel ram for a small block chevy - i have heard that there are some problems with the flow being inconsistent and that gas/air is less to the outer 4 cylinders as compared to the inner ( closer to the carb) cylinders....any success stories or horror stories wouls be appreciated...johnnyB
