....(12" diameter) other than a flex fan, i'm thinking i could raise the radiator up a couple of inches. From the ground to the top of the grille shell is 29 1/2", cowl is 33 1/4" so the radiator will still be lower than the cowl. I think it would look okay. What cha think?

This may just muddy the water, but I have had a Hayden Clutch Fan Replacement on my 39 Chevy for years and it worked pretty well. Its 10 inches in diameter. Made better than most of the flex fans out there.

yep looks like you could raise it and kill two birds with one stone ,your fan problem and the grill up to the right height to match the firewall

I've always thought it looked a little low. I could raise it up 2-3" and i think it would look better.

I always try to keep the radiator as high as I can get it as long as it looks good . Then you should be OK to get a 12" in there . I would either use a flex fan , clutch fan or find a small import to get a fan from . You should be able to find one on the on-line auction site . It really shouldn't take much to keep it cool since the engine bay is open . Electric fans are good if you can hide them !
    just a thought .

Raised it up 3". It's about an inch lower than the cowl. Now i have enough room to run a 15" fan.
