Tony: Nice detailing and paint on yours; the green color on the Olds is similar to the candy green I used on mine back in the 60's. It is no longer available, of course. What is the brand you used; looks close to factory color...
Wow these motors are fantastic, ever since starting this thread i have seen some of the best looking dream motors ever. You know even the ones that are grubby or are about to built also look cool. The thing i also noticed is that you guys are all very proud of what you got and what you are putting them in. Also nice to see some 6's and 4's in the pictures as well. I did notice some very nice garage floors with a hint in backgrounds of other things maybe we could get some sneek peeks at some Garages as well. But keep these motors coming. In Australia fuel costs rose quite a bit but its nice to see fuel guzzerling, tyre frying, smoke producing kick arse motors. " God i love Hot Rods " This is me, im the guy in the red check shirt in my old custom 67 Chrysler Valiant. Ugly son of a B!@#$ aint i.
Who are these valve covers by? I have a set no markings what so ever on them. where the bolts go to hold them down there is a raised triangle area.
Drove it out of the garage a couple of weeks ago. Still needs some tuning before any long trips and some "dressing", but I wanted to drive it before it got too cold to work on it this year. Jay
Good to see so many mopars! This is my '75 400 (came out of a winter beater I used to have) in my '48 Dodge pickup. Stock bottom end freshened up, 383 Magnum cam (going bigger probably), ported 452's milled .060" to bring the compression up around 9.25:1, 1/2" oil pickup, custom deep pan, Offy dual quad with two carter 500 series (matched pair of competition series) Offy valve covers and the beginnings of a set of true equal length 1 3/4" x 36" primary headers (2 1/2" collectors). Thinking about converting the dual quad setup to E.F.I., but many other things to do first!
Avatar driver motivation. Will sell complete intake setup from car with pro built large logo 97's, EELCO linkage, fuel block, hoses and fittings, and vintage cal custom scoops $1800.
