I'm looking for pictures and ideas for rear frame mods for old skool trucks, I've got a 46 stude that I wanna flip the axle on, just lookin for ideas on what to do with the frame and bed. My initial idea is to try and make the frame look stock, and just raise the bed floor, but I like lookin around for inspiration. For the record, I'm not interested in subin in an S-10 frame.
i narrowed a sterling 10.25 about 7" on each side to put in my 52 truck......... don't know if it'll give you any ideas for yours
here's a pretty current picture, plan to take the flatbed apart when it warms up and stain the wood/paint the frame....... i have a few more pics an album here also.
Hey, that's lookin pretty good! But, you said your going to paint the frame? It apears to be nicely painted black already. Maybe I'm wrong... Anyhoo, I realy appreciate the pics.
its just so damn funny, yes lets see them modified rearends ladies.... im not offending anyone right...
No offense taken here. Lol. I thought for sure that "show me your rear would get the proper attention. Clearly not. Haha
Here is my homemade flip of the rearend in my 49 Ford COE. The chassis is a 74 GM 1-ton. I put a c-notch in and added the inner reinforcement. I cut off the leaf saddle from the rearend and put it on the other side of the axle tube. Quick piece of tubing extension for the shock mounts. really pretty simple, just a lot of labor and welding.
