Great to see thanks! I was pushing the Batmobile on to the stage next to Brett and we were talking about the book. He said some of the pictures were simply unbelievable. Can't wait to get a copy.

Crime must of light in those days.. The North Hollywood shop did not have gates and you would often see cars like the Futura concept car (Witch turned into the now 4.2 million dollar Batmobile) as well as trailers and parts just out in the open. These three cars were hanging out in the lot just parked and sitting. In the photo we see Richard Korkes' 1954 Ford who worked at the shop, The Villa Rivera and Ken Cohen's 1963 corvette

Do you mind if we post current shots of George and/or his cars?

  11. Thanks Piero for posting these. When I visited there in November, I just walked around the shop looking at all the labeled boxes and thought, "man, the stuff that must be in these boxes....I'd love to go through each and every one!"

Not my thread but I do. There's already plenty of pics of those available. Why clutter up this thread?

  13. Very cool pictures.

  14. Love the pics and the story of how the casket for Dragula was acquired. Stories like that always make the history a little better.

Yeah thanks for asking... I would prefer to keep this post about these shots that i'm posting cause most of these have never been seen and it would be our little log of original photos..

Came across this photo of the Jesse Lopez 41 Ford in the archives. Its clearly has been cropped for one of the magazines. I love to see notes and marks on these photos showing the process of getting a picture read for layouts.

  18. Wow that is a great shot of Jesse's car!! The reflections in the paint really show how straight it is.

I happen to be researching something that led me to another thing I had no idea about, which is that G.B. supposedly customized the Beverly Hillbillies '21 Olds.

This is the subscript for the photo below:

"I am the originator of this photo. I hold the copyright. I release it to the public domain. This photo depicts The Beverly Hillbillies truck currently residing at Planet Hollywood in Downtown Disney, Orlando, Florida.A 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46 Roadster customized by George Barris"

The crowd is in amazement as the Golden Sahara is unveiled. This is the 2nd version that Jim Street did and was a modern electronic master piece!. I would be pretty bummed if my car was parked near the Golden Sahara at that show hahahaha...
