been procrastinating on welding the car back together after i sectioned it,,,finally started the tedious job of welding her back together,,,,,,ive got the quarters nearly done (no grinding yet)...went real slow and skipped around (got some funny looks from my cat when i was skipping around the shop,,hahah)....the warpage wasn't really that much of a problem after all,,,there are a few spots that need hammer and dolly work,,but not bad at all....there is one spot on the drivers side in front of the wheelwell that seems to have some bondo,,i have a feeling it wont be pretty,,may have to redo a patch panel there before moving on................after that, i will pull the engine, weld up the firewall, pull the fenders and weld them on the bench, weld up the inner fenders, and finally weld up the inner door frames,,,,,really went a lot smoother than i thought it would,,next time i won't procrastinate so long,,,,then its back to the fun stuff,,,,,,,,,my wacky mind has been hard at work,,,,,wait till you see whats coming......

did you bail on the bat wings?

still doing the fins,,,temporarily took them off because they were in the way

yeah,,the fender will follow the conduit and curve down into the door,,the metal inside that area will be concave with some expanded metal or textured metal (if that makes sense)

    just wait,,its gonna get crazier,,haha

looks awesome...im thinking, whats going on with the piece underneath the headlights where you have that flat paper with a circle drawn on it(parking light?) is that metal going to be flat or will it flow with the rest of the car? in other words..whats going to take up that space?? i was just wondering how straight 58 lincolns would look to take up some of that space?? still doing the chevy rear wheel openings? what about cruiser skirts scooped similar the aztec?

that will be a parking light (tunneled 52 ford parking light lens)...the metal will come down flat inside the canted headlight hood and will have expanded metal...i considered 58 lincolns,,but they didnt look that great (too big)...also considered canted quads,,but this just looked better,,,,,,,,,a friend found me some awesome long steel teardrop bubbles for the back..they are PERFECT for the car

Jim, I dont want to wait to see what's next. I want to see now! I hate cliff hangers.

This is getting cooler every post. I like the caddy dagmars now that they are recessed, it balances out well.

The fake blower you were telling me you are going to have popping through he hood should be really cool! Cant wait to see that.

So glad to see the Caddy bumpers back on the car, I liked those and they work well with the trunklid chin pan too. Would like to see it with the '52 Ford lenses, I always thought those were cool looking lenses.

  24. Looking good! Did you do all the welds with a henrob? With the front fenders are you talking about something kind of like the later version of the Golden Sahara? Can't wait to see more1

  26. You rule dude!

Those Caddy bumpers are so much better than those stray looking bullets alone. Hardtopping it is the way to go for sure!

    Kustomized beyond all recognition!

Everything is blending into a beautiful, cohesive design. I love the Dagmars, and especially the new fender line.
Does the upper tape line indicate the possibility of a belt-line dip?
And are you starting to see it in color?

You must have a hell of lot of energy to get that much work done.
Or a secret crew helping you LOL
Always enjoy your latest updates on your MILD custom.
    Keep up the great work.

  30. Try looking at 65-69 Corvair headlights buckets, flipped side to side and mounted vertically, pointy side down. They will angle towards the center. The trim is aluminum and it can be polished.
