On this subject, is it possible to shorten a Lokar shifter handle?
Would it work to shorten the handle and maintain the lengh of the cable that sticks out above the handle.?

I took one out of a late 60's 4 speed out of a Chevy C 60 truck . Welded up a knob on the end turned it down in the lathe to fit a T5.[IMG]

I used a big tapered shifter handle out of a mid 50's international truck and heated and bent it to suit my muncie 4 speed also to suit right hand drive.(Australia) welded some fault stock in the bottom and drilled two holes so it bolts to the hurst shift mechanism.
