ok so i got to ask has any body modified or made their own shifter handle for the old 40's 50's style transmissions? lots of custom knobs but is there anybody making custom handles for them old 3 and 4 spd top shifters?
On this subject, is it possible to shorten a Lokar shifter handle? Would it work to shorten the handle and maintain the lengh of the cable that sticks out above the handle.?
man those are pretty costly to be cutting tho....i was thinking getting some twisted wrought iron and welding it down by the base
I took one out of a late 60's 4 speed out of a Chevy C 60 truck . Welded up a knob on the end turned it down in the lathe to fit a T5.
I used a big tapered shifter handle out of a mid 50's international truck and heated and bent it to suit my muncie 4 speed also to suit right hand drive.(Australia) welded some fault stock in the bottom and drilled two holes so it bolts to the hurst shift mechanism.
