There wasn't much more worth posting pics of.

  4. Really? Was the guy with the vintage speed boat there? That thing has a bad Olds Rocket loaded up with Gotha equipment. Here's a tidbit for the next time you go to that show, my friend, talk to the guy with the unfinished boat. He is the guy who built them, back when. Garlands, I think the speedboats are called.
Did Joel Gruzin fire up the Mighty Mouse on the usual big ass load of nitro, again? Those guys ran at Lion's when it was a new strip. Joel still runs now.
There's a shop on Main Street that is full of both vintage and current Bonneville cars and bikes.
I know that there are always cool cars at Seal Beach. Most of the show is street rods, true, but that show is full of real legends, if you listen and look around. There must be a dozen cool bars in three blocks, lubricate your mind next time and find something nice to say to those guys with their comfortable street rods. You might be talking to a guy in the 200 MPH Club. You might hear some stories about how fucking wild it was at OCIR in the early seventies. Sorry to jump on you, Dullchrome, but I think you don't realize how lucky we are to have that in our neighborhood. I was at the Beatnik Blow Out last Saturday, but I'd like to walk the show to you so you could see what I mean. Maybe the next "GoldChainer"tm event we can do that. We can chat at the Broiler...

Good point Phil. Lots of those guys that are the "Greybeards" with streetrods today were some of the original "Hot Rodders" of the 40's & 50's. Most of them have paid their dues and like to ride in comfort today. Gettin' old aint for the faint of heart.

What shop are you talking about Phil? I am on Main Street a lot and don't know about a shop with Bonneville cars. Next year I want to go with you. I must have missed a lot. I did see a lot of cool cars there. Some may not have been my taste but a lot of cool cars. I will see if I can post some pics that have not been posted yet.

  18. The shop is a couple of doors down from the Bay Theatre. Same side of the street. Last time I was in Seal, he had a beautiful flathead engine in the window.

If the Beatnik Blowout conflicts with the Seal Beach show, I'm gonna miss SB again.

20 yrs ago when I was a kid I fished jack-pot for a few of the boats off the pier "City of Seal & The Enterprise". I never thought the show down the strip was a HAMB thing but I guess the HAMB is a Changing. Even the fisherman called um gold chainers.

  25. Ya, I have heard that same thing.

  26. I'll be there. It's just down the bike trail for me. Beachwood BBQ and the Abbey are good beer fiend places. I'll wear a Vipers shirt. I'll be one of the guys who aren't offended by the street rods. See some of ya there.

  27. The black 3w and the yellow Roadster are just SICK!!!!!!!!
