THIS was a scary drag moment! Paul,"Motor" Burns setting an altitude record with his AA/FD. The car didn't go over but it broke in two when it came down.
Back in '69 I converted my Harley drag bike to nitro and was running it at this track in Charlotte. We did not use front wheel brakes back then so when my rear brakes failed at over 130 mph I ran off the end of the track but luckily came to a stop upright.
