Hot Rods SBF engine mount ideas

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by nailhead29A, May 27, 2015.

  1. I'm mounting a SBF in a 32 coupe for a customer, going to use the biscuit style flathead mounts as I'm a big fan of em, just lacking a little inspiration at this point in time about how I want em to look. Looking to you guys to give me a little boot in the ass to get this rolling. What are the different ways you guys have gone about it, looking to make a bit of a feature out of them as opposed to plain boring mounts.
    Thanks in advance.

Just made these for a mates 302 in his 30 roadster. Engine mounted a little higher to allow clearance for oil filter removal.
Kept mount in nice and close for less stress on bolts to block.
Added the sweep for steering shaft clearance, so copied other side. photo 1.JPG photo 2.JPG

Damn, now I have to make new mounts for my '36 after seeing yours!

  6. Very nice, I'm loving those mounts.

  7. Did you realize you put the steering wheel on the wrong side?:D

  8. Nah mate it's on the right side, literately!
I've made a start on mine, will post some pics when done. Keep the pics coming though.
