Hot Rods SBC Dist hold down ??????

What are all you guys usin for the dist hold down? Them chinese POS just seam to bend after the first time used. My stash of old spring steel 1's is no more. Any good 1's out there.?

 

You can still get the stock ones from the autoparts.
If you can't find a good one at the autoparts go to your favorite catalog speed shop and get a Moroso or the like.

yes, those cheap chromed stamped steel ones are crap. the last few ones i have used are billet........but don't tell anyone

I am sitting on a gold mine... probably have 5 or 6 of those in my pail o' parts stash...

 

I musta had 15/20 of em a few years ago, musta grown legs.

 

Wow, maybe I need to sell my wire and old steel ones. I might get rich and be able to buy more '32 stuff!

the wire ones suck, I use the later flat style.

 

They look cool but I agree they are not as good as the solid one. I have had the wires spread out

 

I have a Moroso on my SBC. It needed some milling for clearance on my Dart intake. Think it was around $10 and chromed.

I spent over 50 bucks for 4 wimshield wiper blades and a set of cork valve cover gaskets.
I don't like spending 50 dollars for 10 dollars worth of stuff but it's no longer 1990.
