San jose speed and chrome + gennie shifter = free s%^t

im 17 building a 1948 plymouth 4 door. its channeled with a sbc in it for temporary. hopefully i can put a mopar v8 in it sometime. door handles are shaved, license plate frenched, frenched headlights coming. wide smoothie wheels in back with wide whites and matching up front. everything on it is shaved or smoothed. the plan is a traditional lowrider sitting on fat www with big motor. im working on a teenagers budget(which is basically nothing). im doing all the welding and fabrication myself to stay within my budget and any help with any parts is greatly needed and appreciated.

 

Okay,here's my entry.It's a 50 Dodge Coronet.I'm runnin' a 318 with a 904 tranny.The top is chopped 3 1/2" and I'm flush mounting the skirts.Yeah,
I'm still workin' on it.Plans are to c-notch it and bag it.

Here is my entry 50 Merc, still a long way away from completion. Right now it's getting the body work done. I'm trying to get all the parts needed for completion. Not sure what engine I will be running but I know I want a floor shift.

I'll give it a try, Sign me up! I have a 1954 F100 that I've been working on for about two years now. I have close to all the chassis work done just need to set up the under floor master cylinder and brake pedal stuff. I'm now getting ready to start rebuilding a C4 to go behind the 351W that will go in it and will be starting on making one good cab out of two as well. Here's some pics.

 

Im building the car Ive always wanted since I was 14. A 53 chevy (I wanted a 54 but a front clip helped that) They werent popular when I wanted one but decided I wanted it that bad even though they are popular now. Im starting with this and working toward that nice black one. 4.5" chop, notched,bagged, packard tailights, 55 headlight bezles, 307 with a 700r4. All covered in a dark maroon color.

 

Sign me up. It would be just the ticker for the shifting duties for my dads 32 - 34 "pile of parts" pickup. Full fendered, bobbed bed, 292 Y-block, th350, dropped axle, spindles w/ front disks, heavy truck chassis (to shorten), 56 ford rear end, etc.. He is flying out in May to spend a week with me thrashing on his "pile of parts". We may not get a huge amount done, but we should be able to fair mess of it.

Hi!
Thanks for another cool contest.
I am building a '50 GMC Pickup. I've got an S-10 frame under it as the original was rotted thru.
The floors are almost done and a fresh 350/700-R4 combo are almost ready to install. The 350 will be topped with and Offy 3x2 intake, 3 '94's and finned valve covers.




It will be lowered and I'm running slotted mags. The grill/front end will be custom, with a louvered hood and '53 Buick front bumper and headlights.

I have a 53 4dr shaved the handles smoothed the deck lid peaked the hood and molded in 52 merc headlight rings and frenched 54 tailights all this work was help from a friend of mine and he has helped me through this whole project. I have the 350 chev 350t and 10 bolt ive been getting it ready for paint with help. Plan to get your knotch kit and bag this thing.

I already have a Gennie shifter and e-brake in the 26 Tudor, but I sure wouldn't mind being able to change the handle quickly... The tall one I have, because the T is so narrow, kinda gets in the way of the steering wheel when I'm driving, but I love the look of the tall shifter. Being able to have one for driving and one for show, would be pretty bitchin'

This has been the Mother of all Low-Buck builds, the brakes and suspension pieces are new, but the rest of the car has been from raiding neighbors and club members garages, and hounding them until they relent and either give me what I want, or sell it to me cheaply enough that I can afford it.
T body that was a chicken coop in Sliverton, OR
TCI chassis bought from a HAMB guy in Carmichael, CA, for dirt cheap, had to change the back half of the chassis from Jag or Vette IRS (yeah like I could afford THAT) to coil over's from Speedway
Chevy Vortec V-6 bought used out of a Model A coupe, in Eureka, CA, the guy wanted a hemi for his A-bone, so I got the engine, trans (TH350) and Gennie shifter from him.
Maverick V-8 rear end out of my neighbor's garage
Vega steering, went ahead and saved and scrimped and got a Flaming River box
Gennie e-brake, IIRC, from O'brien truckers here on the HAMB
Tru-Spoke wire wheels from Chopped50Ford here on the HAMB
Like I said, most of this car came to me, one way or another, from the HAMB
When I can afford to, and this car quits nickel and dime-ing me to death (yeah, like THAT'S gonna happen) I will become an Alliance member. But since I am buying everything used for the car, I can use the $$ better for parts, than a discount for new parts that I can't afford anyway.

 

I recently bought a 1959 Chevy stepside to re-do.
The truck as it sits now has a 350 ci engine with a turbo 350 transmission.
I am currently in the process of finishing a 468 Ci and I am going to mate it to a 7ooR4. So a new shifter would be great. I intend on changing the stance some, boxing the frame in, new tires/wheels, new steering column, different flat paint scheme and changing the rear with an addition of bumper and proper tail lights. That's it for now.

I would love to have the opportunity to be a part of the drawing and I am an Alliance member.

1935 Desoto 4 door. Fun tracking down parts for this one. May do a different grill if I can't find a desoto grill. Installing windows and rubbers next. Not filling the roof, want to go with traditional style top.

Had my 55 1st since October, got her shipped all the way to Australia! been my dream to own one of these since I was 15! Its a budget build, but I love working on her and as soon as I saw this truck I knew I had to save it and turn her into a traditional ride. I have been gathering parts for the rebuild and one of the things I really think would set her off is a gennie shifter. I have been waiting till I had the cash but this could really help me out.
