I have an old but brand new 8000 green line tach and sender I want to put in my car. I took them out of the box last night. Took the cover off of the sender and found what looks to be leaky batteries. Do any of you guys know where to get these? Or what, if anything can be used as replacements? Thanks, Gene.

The batteries were something like 1.5 volt mercury batteries which are no longer made. AA batteries are the same size but different voltage. They supposedly work but the tach won't be accurate.

F-6 thanks for the info, Gene.

  4. You can also get it converted to electronic. Do a search for a couple of good threads in
the archives. (I believe someone also had a solution for battery replacement)

What he said, I bought mine from a guy that just had it done, I think the guy was in OK or the Mid West. Do a search it is in here. Mine works great and the guy is real nice, will answer all your questions. If I find the name I'll post it.
