Did anyone see the Rubber Band Car at Bonneville SW '08? Did it make any passes on the salt? If so, how fast did it go? I think it looks cool and is well engineered. Any information will be appreciated. Saint , , , ,
I heard about it. Thanks for the pics. We were joking it was a "pull back toy" and they had to pull it backwards from the end of the course and hold it till the starter let them go
I started a thread about this same subject (click HERE) ... the consensus is that Ron Main never ran it @ SpeedWeek '08 ... perhaps he'll wind it up at the WorldFinals later this year ... or maybe wait to stretch it out @ SpeedWeek '09.
ST. 515 ... Not a problem ... I'm not the "duplicate thread" police ... just wanted to provide you (and others) a link to a thread that had the answers to your questions about the "Twisted" B'ville car. The one question I had (that was never answered) was how come it was listed as an O/OS (Omega class Streamliner) when it's wheels are out in the open (ala a Lakester)?
The exact wording isn't handy, but the rules state that in the Lakester class, no bodywork may extend outward past the wheels. If it does, then it's a Streamliner. In the case of this car, a wider front axle would make it a Lakester. Dave http://www.roadsters.com/
wonder how long it takes to get the bands wound up so you could run???? i just hope one of those dont snap, cause they look like it would hurt....lol
