I'm gonna change the taillights in my 62 Ranchero again, I'm looking for some suggestions. I need something round, about 4-6 inches in diameter. I'm thinking maybe 61-62 starliner/galaxie, 57 Ford, something like that, but I would like something thats not that common. Anybody know of anything buick, olds, pontiac, maybe mopar that would work? Whatever I decide, I'l probably wind up sinking them an inch or so into the rear quarters.
39' Chryler Airflow? I think that's the car. Round tail lights with a cover that looks like a dart board. Coolest tail lights I've ever seen.
The 59 Buick idea is interesting, although I think they would look better flush mounted...That would look great and save me some metalwork.
It would take some serious metal shaping to cut it into the 1/4 pnel but this '61 Polara light would be cool in the side of that Falcon. http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/03/_mopar.pl?/show/03/fame/fame062.jpg
I have a 62 wag, I used the original tail lights, removed the outer ally and recessed them in a cone 2", I don't have a photo but they look pretty cool, alot of guys say theres some thing different but I don't know what.
Not sure if they are big enough diameter, but how about 53-54 Buick? Just put '54's in my '58 Chevy and I have 53's in my coupe. Both are nice big bullet lights.
'61 Olds - 6.25" diameter I have a pair of those '60 Dodge tail lights if they don't need to be perfect. PM me.
