Interesting. I read the article, didn't see where in Missouri it was moving.

My wife and I lived in nearby Muskegon and would go there for breakfast often. We have nothing but good memories of the place :).

I thought it would have been real cool at the Gilmore, but heck it's better than watching it rot.

I was in a Rosies Diner in Aurora Colorado last year and they claimed they were the original one from the Bounty commercial and that it was moved out there from New Jersey. Two of them?

Does anyone know what's going to happen with the other two diners on the property? Jerry Burta, the artist who moved them there, used one for his studio, the other one was going to be a steakhouse, but that never happened. An auto dealership owns (last I knew) the property, and had threatened to raze them. I lobbied the Gilmore to get one here, but there was not interest from the board as there's already a diner on the their grounds.

We ate at the Gilmore Diner in 2014. Cool place! The Gilmore was part of our 100 year Dodge Brothers Anniversary meet near Detroit Michigan. Old Diners are a cool part of history.

No, the one is Michigan had the documentation hanging on the wall. There are more across the country that have made the original claim but, it just ain't so ;).

Happy to know that it will be getting some love. It was sad to see them falling apart. Hopefully the others will get a new life also.
