My local engine guy did mine... maybe you can find a shop to do it or do it yourself... pretty straight forward. The service station I worked at in high school did 'em on a regular basis... the only thing you'll have to farm out is the resurfacing of the rocker face and many machine shops have the tooling to do it on an old valve grinding machine.

I think my guy billed me 3 hours labor to disassemble, clean, machine the faces and reassemble.

What do you consider a 'rebuild'?
I have seen very few rocker assemblies that only needed a cleanup and the tips dressed. Generally you will find that the rockers have galled the shaft, so polish as much as you want to but the damage is still there.
The proper solution is to hard chrome the shafts, centerless grind them back to standard, then install an oilite bronze bushing in the rockers. Now dress the tips.

    Mine only needed a clean-up.

Hard chroming is great but how many got that treatment 40 years ago? I'm not saying it isn't an improvment but if the shaft is in spec I'd think it would be optional.

  5. I used them for the rebuild on my 235. I was really impressed with their work. I had collected about 5 or 6 different sets of rockers. I called them, explained what I had and they said send them out. I got a new rocker set in the mail a few weeks later with no bill!!! Excellent service too.

I'll second that vote! I've used these guys more than a few times. Excellent work, quick turn around and reasonable prices. Shafts are available new. Hot heads and these guys offer them....and some warehouses still might have Sealed Power replacements sitting around too.

From the other side of the Globe, I rang rocker arm specialists and the built and sent a set out to me, and I was really happy and impressed with their quality and service.

just to give you an idea I think it cost me $100 US just for the shipping on top of the cost and I didn't send any cores in due to shipping costs from this end. And I was still happy!

I would use these guys in a heart beat.

I do complete rocker rebuilds. From stock overhauls to custom sets. And I stock hard chromed rocker shafts. Email me with your needs. :D I also have literally hundreds of used rocker arms, stands, and stock shafts.
