Now that I got the A on the road this year this is the one show I wanted to be sure to make. Me and the lady will be rolling in from Cincy on Fri morning. looking for a place to catch a few ZZZ's at night so any suggestions would be appreciated since I know the host hotel is sold out. Can't wait for some good music, cool rides, and chance to meet some new fellow rodders. Let the sun shine and the brews flow!

Looking forward to it, the Poorboys (and friends) will caravan up on Thursday.

One of the things about the show that I think is kinda cool is that you can't book a room at the hotel that weekend unless you're registered for the show - in other words everyone there is more or less a 'car guy'

Naomi is indeed a sweetheart and all those guys in the Road Rockets are first class guys.

Yep, this is a great show, and not to be missed.

Weather is looking good, as of now, very little chance of rain and Hot

Does this show have plenty of shade trees? I am asking because I plan to bring my 3 year old.

There is some shade outside, combination of trees and vendor tents but they keep the hotel lobby nice and cool and there is a big vendor area inside as well, so it's very easy to take a break from the heat

  15. shit im already here hahaha
Having lunch with the bubba crew tomorrow and some antiqing
See ya at the show![QUOTE=carbon guy;7884521]Have a safe trip

Champscotty is correct on the shade verses heat fityfive. I am set up in the vendor area just off the lobby inside the hotel and plenty of people bring themselves and the lil ones in from the heat to take a break in the AC. Plus there is a large foyer by the indoor pool with plenty of chairs.....cool in there and lot's of sit down room away from the crowd.
This is venue like no other I attend.....damned nice vending on carpet and AC rather than standing in a field full of cow shit in 90 degree heat and thunderstorms !!! Stop by the booth when you take a break with the youngin and have a cold one, I'm in the vendor room on the left of the lobby with car movies and pin up posters....look for the HAMB banner

Will be there Sat. The son is getting home tomorrow from a semister of college in South Korea. He will be driving his 46, with jet lag, and I will be in the 39.
My dad wants to ride up, so this will make the 3rd or 4th year for the 3 of us to make the show, thats kinda cool!:)

Thanks Champscotty & Bigbob55. I was a little nervous about taking a lil one to a show with no shade, but it sounds like the Road Rockets have found an excellent location for the show.

Bigbob55- I will stop by on Saturday to say hi.

    Thanks again.

Just looked at the weather report, upper 80's and only 10% chance of rain. Looks like a awesome weekend in the making. Heading that way early Friday morning. Anyone else going to be heading over 74 on Friday morning?

The Poorboys will be heading out tomorrow morning - we've even got a couple of friends from Canada coming with us in their '50 Merc (we actually met them at the R.R. Rumble a few years ago). They've been in the area doing the 'tourist' thing so they're gonna stay at my place tonight and roll out with us in the a.m.

Any tips on how where to park and how early to get there on Saturday morning? I'm bring my son down Sat. and I am familiar enough with Indy to know it can be a PIA.

"Old and fat?" That's politically incorrect,Bob? "Earth-tenured and undertall" might be more apt? Of course, since you got Straub out there,well...
Hope it's a great time for everybody and I might stow away in the trailer for the trip next year!

OMG - I stopped by at lunch and alot of people and cars were there. After work got my girls in the old shoebox to head back to the Rumble, when the temp gauge on the RS started going up - sh#@ upper radiator hose pissing all over the place. Got the duct tape out, and the water jug to fill the radiator, and kept on going - only another 7-8 miles. As we can down the hill - holy sh@# - the place is packed at 7pm - Wow!! What a show this is going to be tomorrow!! If your not going tomorrow - you will miss out on THE best show of the year. I don't have any idea if there is any place left to park! I have to change the radiator hoses in the morning - so seeya there!!!!
