Margie Petersen passed away Friday. She was 76.
Robert and her two sons were killed in a plane crash in '75 so they left no heirs.
    Remembering them both...:(

I had the pleasure of meeting Margie and Bob (Robert) on several occasions - a wonderfully gracious lady. Bob passed on March 23 2007.

Sad news indeed. Always heard that she was just a wonderful partner for Robert, and a very fine lady.

Actually Bob Petersen's sister lives in Lancaster. I guess she would be considered an heir. Her son, Randy Holt, was a photographer for the Petersen magazines back in the 60's.

It's probably contestable but I read after Robert's death that he willed his estate to the Catholic Church.
It would be nice to have a "car guy" carry on with it though.

    So sad. R.I.P

  8. I would think that Robert's estate would have gone to Margie being a lawfully married couple in the state of California. I do know that she recently endowed the Peterson Museum with a $100 Million donation.

A tremendous loss to the automotive hobby world , like most of the Hambers , I've thumbed through more Petersen publications than I could ever begin to remember . A huge influence on me and ideas I've had . A sad day :-(
