We would like to inform all of those who chatted with our son, Bobby Serlet "left turn", age 21, of Omaha, NE, that on Sunday, Fathers Day, Bobby took his own life. We don't know his reasons why, nor were they obviously apparent to us. Bobby spent hours on the HAMB chatting with many of you about his passion for old cars. He would tell us about the posts he read and the people he met thru the HAMB. It seems he met some great people, as well as some quite colorful characters, thru the HAMB. He would smile with every story he told us. I'm sure he touched alot of your hearts too. While this is a tragic event, and our hearts are heavy with grieve, we take solice in the fact that Bobby was an organ donor. His donations have helped to extend the lives of three other people. Family visitation is planned for Friday, June 24, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Kremer's Funeral Home, 6320 Maple St, Omaha, NE. Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 10 AM, Immanuel Luthern Church, 2725 N. 60th Ave., Omaha, NE. We welcome anyone wishing to pay their respects or to share stories of their conversations with Bobby. Thank you for touching Bobby's heart, Bob "6bt" & Chris Serlet
Though I never met, or even chatted with Bobby, my thoughts go out to you and your family today. Know that the HAMB has a way of banding together for it's members, and their families. We're all here for you.
Very sorry for your loss, a life cut way too short rest in peace. I have lost severall friends this way, no matter how bad things get they will allways get better. If anyone is in a bad way PM me and let's talk.
So sad. As a high school teacher, I have unfortunately encountered this too many times. My condolences to his friends and family. I have learned that it is impossible to gain a rational understanding of an irrational thought. Hopefully he's at peace.
Having welcomed you to the Hamb no less than 10 minutes ago I was unaware that your son was left turn,,I am at a loss for the right words,, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. HRP
