Just saw a pic on the Rodders Journal Instagram page of Rich Roberts 57 Buick at the Suede Palace at GNRS this year. Its a Watson flamed (like mine ) 57 Special or Century. But it's got Packard tail lights, extended headlights and looks chopped a couple of inches. Really nice custom. Anyone have any info/pics of this car or its history?
Sorry I just saw this thread, you pretty much have it covered as far as what has been done to the car. Rich picked it up out of Northern California but it looked a lot different. Rich pulled off the spot lights and swapped out the lake pipes from three plugger pipes for the single plug pipes. When he got the car it was teal with lavender and turquoise pin striping and had some odd seats that looked like they came out of a conversion van and the whole interior if I remember right was brown tweed. Rich has loved the Watson Buick since he was a kid so when it came time for paint that was the inspiration but his painter put his own spin on the theme. When it came time for interior Rich swapped out the front seat for a bench then had the whole thing redone in pearl white vinyl. The car was on chrome smoothies and sat a little higher so caddy caps and a little bit of lowering finished up the makeover.
