My friend, Bill Bitterman, raced stock cars (Late Models and Modifieds) in the Western N.Y. area during the '60s-'90s. This is his latest project (he sold his used car lot and keeps busy with these in his garage), a '27 Ford (widened 6") with an old Indy car nose, '61 Corvette rear end and a tube frame. Sits lower than his Corvette.
I'll see if I can get him to shoot some pics with the hood off. (He's in Buffalo and I'm in Las Vegas.) As far as I know (he's an accomplished race car builder, body and paint man) he did everything except the interior tin. Fellow retired Modified racer Ronnie Williams did the interior tin. I believe the engine is/is going to be a small-block Chevrolet. Sadly, this might be the end of the line -- he's run out of money to finish the car and may have to sell it...
if he has to sell it, I hope it goes to someone on here who will appreciate and finish it, If I had the money I would buy it in a heartbeat, it does need something in the way of a flathead though, not a small block, the car is way too traditional for anything else. EDIT flat head with an offy intake and a bunch of carbs, it NEEDS that sound to be right. It looks to have just come from the dry lakes.
That is so friggin nice. It needs and old super mod aluimn alky feed injected monster under the hood.
The body on this car would sell commercially for sure. The look and lines are just right. Tell your friend he needs to get one of the glass body companies to reproduce it and offer it for sale.
Funny thing, I saved these pics for future reference and maybe some inspiration. This the same car? I don't know if I found this on Ebay or where?
I haven't been there in 20+ years, but I believe that is Ronnie Williams' shop/garage and he did all the interior tin. Must've shot/posted some of his own pics.
