I've been car shopping again and ran across this today. The roof splits down the center and the back window appears to lift out. It looks like they've got a rack in the trunk to carry the panels while cruising sans roof. Sure, the wheels aren't friendly for this forum and I don't know how sturdy this ended up being but....anyway see what ya think. http://www.hotrodhotline.com/classifieds/classifieds.php?a=2&b=27416
pretty sure I seen that at KKOA at Salina Ks last year, would have been in the driving distance guy semed to love taking the top apart and racking it up and packaging the parts, rember the slide rods in the trunk not sure on the color it was but how many can be out there??
Whoa now that's a great version of t-tops! Kinda.........So does that stainless window trim just pop out and stow away as well? I could spend hours pouring over that roof.
Yep, that is bad ass. I love '59 Pimpalas in either hard top or convertible configurations. This is the best of both worlds.
Wow,el Neato! Just change the wheels, whip out the digitals.'59 Impalas kick ass, this one just kicks harder. Paul
So how exactly does the roof come off. What about the B-pillars are those connected to the roof or are there 4 different pieces?
WOW-what do you do with the back window? What do you do if you drop the back window? Doesn't look like a one man operation. Awesome work.
Neat, catchy, but like others have said doesn't seem practical to me. Having said that the craftmanship and engineering to do that is amazing!
seen this on here once before. pretty cool. i wonder if that roof seam is a pain in the ass to line up?
