The work by these guys made me want to go to Art School. Unfortunately, they didn't consider illustration "Art," so I had to go out of my Major to take the classes. Luckily I learned some things from the illustration prof, that I was able to use after I didn't graduate. Thank heaven for the wonder of the internet AF = Art Fitzpatrick VK = Van Kaufman

Bernard "Bernie" Fuchs was my profs idol. To me he was the best all around illustrator of that era, I thought his style was great then. Then of course I am in awe of William Motta.

 

The illustration of the scout is fantastic. I need one...

 

Thanks Jeff. The Fitz/Van '68 LE Mans(?) (the one with the DC8, pilot & gal) is a beautiful piece, full of texture .
My childhood neighbour was a GM exec, and his new cars are remembered to me as they are portrayed in your F/V piece.
