Reliability/Poker run ??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by geno_86ed, Oct 30, 2004.

  1. I am looking to start a Reliability/Poker run in south west Wyoming. I have picked out a site and have support from the others, yes there aren't that many of us, and I would like to realize my dream of starting a rod run.

I have picked out a very scenic route, about 100 miles for a trip max, and I have a few questions to ask of other rodders, kustomers, and bikers.

What is it that you find appealing to join a reliability/poker run. I have a few ideas that would entice me, but I need help to make this an appealing and respectful run. The first or second run will have to include the usual pure high budget street rods and bikes, as there aren't but a few period style rods and bikes. Would later, hopefuly, like to mold this run into a pre 64 vehicle class, with some stricter guide lines, yes I am wishing, but very determined.

I was thinking of trying to have a primary bar/street dance site for post run activities, and also prime parking/show site for the participants that attend.

Tell me what it is that you like and dislike about reliability/poker runs, and I will try to build my run to suit.

Yes this will probably be a spring or fall run because there is less to do, and the weather will make for interesting driving. I my self love driving in weather other than sunny, makes it interesting. By the way did I mention that the drive is very beautiful and scenic.

Tell me your thoughts... no holds barred... By the way look out for my shameful promotion of my rod run in 2005, hope all the Utah, Colorado, and Idaho rodders will attend!!
