Having just watched this, I've gotta ask if the '36 tub used was a mild custom, from the rear skirts to the spotlights? Still a beautiful car, I couldn't locate a full screenshot of it.... i140616.jpg capture4vi4.5341.jpg

Later on when there was time for customizing.
In that era skirts and spots were extra conveniences.
Road direction signs were unlit and not reflective; Just paint on wood.
Night traveling, come to a major crossroad route at night and you had best bring a lite.
The roads ( many,, more than you think ) were often gravel or plain dirt/mud.
Skirts were an add-on to protect the rear end,, and fender paint from the indignity of driving in slop.
The fog lamp is used on the right to ID the edge of the road.
Slower driving and the lights of other cars would show the rest.

My memory is way off. I remember seeing Reefer Madness over 40 years ago and somehow thought it was a '35 phaeton.
