I have an opportunity to pick up several 4x8 sheets of 3/16 Red Lexan. If you have ever looked for this stuff you know it is hard to get unless you want 10,000lbs of it. Clear Lexan is $260 a sheet locally and the red is not available. If enough people are interested I will offer Red 4x8 sheets for $100 you pick it up in Peoria, IL or figure out shipping.
Let me know your interest level and how many sheets you would be interested in.
    Thank you,

If it's transparent red it is plexiglass not lexan.
Take a knife to the edge..If it cuts clean it's lexan, If it cuts choppy it's plex.

I'd be VERY interested if it's truly Lexan, and would buy two sheets, but not at all if it's plexi...

I've got PEOPLE!!! We'll get it picked up.

Lexan is the GE product name, but thats like all tissue is Kleenex.
As long as its POLYCARBONATE, I dont care who makes it!

I'll take 3 or 4 sheets. Thats better than a $1000 right there.

  15. Not any more GE sold its polimere division to Saubic about 6 years ago. You can get tinted lexan from them but tis pricey as has been stated.

I might could come up with a hundred bucks but I couldn't afford the trip to Peoria to get it. So I'm out unless someone wants to haul it to me.

Looks like in da shop will take care of me. :D it needs to be tinted not colored for me to be interested though. I'll want to use it for windows.

Uh you will kick a sheet out on your way by right?

  16. If it Lexan I will take one possibly 2..........Kelly

Yeah it would be coming right through. I'm all ears if this is real red tinted polycarbonate. I've never seen any before.
Looked for a long time, and talked to a lot of people in winter '07-08 and came up with no one was making it because of the pigment somehow degrading the quality???

  18. Edye was working for GE when they sold the polymer division to Saubic, locally polymers was right next door to her offices. They had tinted lexan not colored lexan but it was higher than a cats back. They gave us a sheet of clear lexan and said just use window tint on it.

if I could find it tinted I'd be happy as a duck in mud. Keep me posted will ya?

hey next time your up come by for food and bench racing.
