Projects rebuilding after the crash

I'm sure it would have been fun. We are passing the time tonight cleaning the car. It's a mess after all the work that was done over the last two weeks. The high humidity has been hard on the magnesium wheels. We have 4 of the six polished back to normal. We are doing it in the trailer with the air on so it's a little more tolerable. Even with the ac a good sweat is worked up.

 

Hey it’s gotta be better than the work you did to the frame last year right.
And you also said last year that the tire size was plenty good for your hero’s past to go plenty fast. First that high tech modern engine install now fat tires what’s next, blue tooth? Fly by wire?

I ran magnesium wheels for a couple of years, still have two sets. It's a love hate thing. They are so so nice when polished up. Nothing better. But it can be a full time job to keep them that way. Especially around here.

 

Dave are there any good bbq places close to the track?

 

MMM, ribs, all that polishing makes a man hungry!

 

I sent a couple of texts to people that would know better than me. Sonny's is right by the track, but it's a chain.

Not necessarily in order. A place in the Home Depot parking lot, Hawg Wild and Sonnys are close by. Big Oaks on Hwy 98. Further away but maybe better. GOod luck.

We were working in the shop today. Terry crossed over 85 to pick up lunch and saw Squirrels 'cuda going north.

We slept outside the gate last night with about 30 other racers. When I woke up there were 400 cars. We got in and got teched asap. You don't want to sit in the hot sun for hours and hours.
Tech goes in three stages.
NHRA inspection
Dot and trailer inspection
Credentials and class inspection
Then registration
Back at the trailer the car was converted over to nitro use. We are ready we just need to pack the trailer for the road.

Dave from the hog mountain garage stopped by with a t-shirt for me. He said it would bring good luck. We do appreciate all the guys coming out to see us. It nice to meet all of you in person.

The awning is the sh**. I invited squirrel over to share some much needed shade. We are all in this together so a TEAM effort how to get it done.

 

I had one of those shirts and wore it out. I need a new one.

 

Brand a part stopped by. He hangs with the south east gasser guys and the quick and dirty car.
Jimmy Walker from rad radiator stopped by. He made my radiator. He used to live in my home town. A few years ago he moved just outside Atlanta. Jimmy drives a 64 dodge altered wheelbase car on the street powered by a 392. It was fun to catch up. We fired the car on nitro it's ready.

 

I was just checking your updates. My 5 yr old daughter for some reason puts down her iPad and says dad I got green. I say what?

Apparently my wife got her this car on a trip to the store for some missing dinner ingredients. Of course I state how it’s not quite the same.
