Rearend question

    Got a 40 banjo rerend and have a question about the numbers I found on the bottom.The numbers are 9-34 anyone got a idea what this means. Thank's for any info.

    Ring and pinion ratio when first assembled. Divide 34 by 9 = 3.78

    It is the original gear tooth count 9:34 or ratio 3.78-1
