Folks Of Interest Rear engine drag T roadster, history pic search.

I have been collecting stuff for the last few years to build a rear engine roadster. This will be a killer ride when you get it together. @Pete are you gonna have this at ROG this June?

 

I just took a look through my '58 HOT ROD Annual and this might be another posibility.

After the 1957 crash there wasn't much left of the that T, George Barcout somehow survived.

 

There was always more than one built

 

There is one in the center of this cover. Cowl mods are different but mods to mods happened...so perhaps a candidate...

Again not an exact match but perhaps mods may have been done after this pic was taken...it was also a Hotrod cover car.

That car still exists in Jim Lattin's collection. The first Carrillo roadster.

Maybe it was a coupster...definately seated correctly.

 

Pete is working hard on the rear engine T.

I know someone has pictures of this car somewhere.

 

I found this pic saved on my computer, I have been trying to remember where I saved it from. This is the closes I have found to matching your T roadster this was from late 50s.

Thanks jimmy . That lools like the body. There was a conduit pipe that ran across the back like the one in the picture. It was cut in the same spot too. Look close at the cut out wheel wells and the arches made from conduit. Petes T body has the same conduit and holes are drilled in the same spot. I think we have a winner.

This 117 car was a Ruddy/Weinsein/Rimer built car. And there where more than one built .

 

The pic JimmyB posted is running a blown merc with ardun heads. Look at the pictures close.

 

The 1 digit on the side also looks to have a different top, that might help to find it in another image.

Hard to tell by the angle. Take a look at the drivers side upper panel by the blower. Thats conduit with the metal rolled over it. And the wheel wells with conduit.

I posted a Hotrod cover shot of this car prior to the two ? mark posts and I figured those were suggesting negatives so I deleted my post with those ? mark responses remaining obviously causing further confusion...

 

I did , lot of bracing etc just like the one pete has now.

Do you have anymore info on the 117 car. I wonder if any of the builders/drivers are still alive. Would love to send them some pictures of the body and its bracing and mounts etc to verify.
