Hi everyone. Im new to the H.A.M.B. I appreciate everyones help so far. It was suggested that I do an intro so here goes. Im from the Chicago area (southwest of the city). I own a 1964 Rambler American 440 Hard top and a 1965 Rambler American 330 club sedan 2Door Post. I am into gassers and unique rides. I love bowties the most but anything cool is good with me. I always wanted a 62-65 nova gasser but they are expensive and everyone has a chevy. I also love the 60-64 falcons. Thats why I got the Americans. They remind me of novas and falcons but they are different. I would like to convert the post into a gasser but I want to drive it on the street. I know some die hards say impossible but Ive seen it done and although it may not be right to some I love the look but I dont want a trailer queen. The 64 has some great parts that I will use on the 65. The 65 has great sheetmetal. I need help with just about everything. I can weld but I dont own a welder yet. I can do some limited sheetmetal work. I learn fast but I need to start somewhere. The rambler looks like a tricky gasser conversion because of the way the front end is set up. I know it can be done. I love anything early sixties drag racing. Thanks for checking this out. I appreciate any help I can get.
Welcome Aboard from Auburn Hills, MI...I drive by the old American Center AMC offices everyday on my way to work...have several friends that love AMCs and I think you will be surprised how many you will find here...
wttlhunter contacted me and we had a nice long phone chat about the Rambler and his plans for it. Good luck and welcome to the HAMB!
Farna even talked me into putting an AMC powerplant in it! Thanks for all the help. I havent slept much since we talked with all the ideas running through my head. Farna knows his stuff, no doubt.
Please do look to the suggested links given on your other thread. Lots of good info there in the historical threads.
ive looked at everything you suggested and thanks. Lots of great stuff. Eddie Stakes is a good dude too.

Welcome from Tulsa. Years ago a neighbor had an original Rambler Scrambler. He didn't really know what he had or much about cars in general. He aquired the car from a guy that "owed" him some money. (I think he was a bookie) Any way, he sold the car before I could scrape up enough dough to put it in my garage. Good luck with your gasser project. Keep us updated.
Thanks, I was planning on doing a build thread once I get my plan together and start making progress.
Welcome from Indiana and a fellow American owner. Good luck with your build and congrats for deciding to stay with an AMC engine. I have a 64 2 door hardtop that will be running an AMC 360 904 torquecommand. Edelbrock performer carb, intake, and cam. AMX "dogleg" exhaust manifolds with 3 inch pipes going into 18 inch glass packs. Oh and a ford 9 inch with richmond locker and 4.11 gears.
