I've wanted to post this for awhile, this thing is installed into a Model TT tow truck ???? Don't know much about these engines but I think there must be a better application for the thing
RAJO and Frontenac both made heads for truck use, auto use, and racing. The truck versions had deep chambers with pretty low compression. The auto versions had a little more compression, and the racing versions had good compression for racing, bigger ports, and in some cases, more ports. The sought after RAJO is the BBR racing head with twin spark plugs per cylinder. Also, it is a cross flow design with 4 exhaust ports on the left.
Pretty cool. Not to many of these around. It looks pretty complete. Overhead valve conversion on a model T engine. Made much more power and that is likely why someone put it in a tow truck, but for the tow truck application usually gears did what needed to be done. Usually found them in somethig somebody wanted to make gow fast. What are your plans? LJ
It is a Rajo C-35 head. Often referred to as the Commercial head. The racing head is a B or BB which has the exhaust and intake on different sides. Any Rajo head is worth money, the C or C-35 is not worth as much as a B or BB but still valuable in good condition. Nice find.
Nice to see what looks like a complete runner. There are so many OHV heads that get traded around over the years but never get to run. RAJO is a really good head, have fun with it. Bob
Thank you for all of your responses I want to see this thing get fired up. I'll chime in again if he gets it running before I die. Thanks
