Quick number plate question for the cali guys..

OK, just a quickie please..........got a fiend here who owns a '63falcon 2 door wagon,hes' easing it along to a late 50s/early 60s mild custom.......he just wanted to ask,to be 'right' which style of cali numberplate he should use on it? Was it still black plate/yellow lettering or changed to yellow plate/black lettering? Thanks...
