Red Lines would completely ruin the sinister look of that car. Whether you were going for it or not, that car looks strictly business and it rules.

Speaking from experiece as a get ready guy and as a oil changer tune up and tire guy from 63 to 66, at a Dodge dealership, I never saw any mopars with redlines, they were on firestones and Firestones were used by GM. Dodge and Plymouth high performance cars came through or were changed up to Goodyear Blue streaks. Most folks will argue that Blue streaks were non DOT racing tires, but they did have a thin line dot series, I remember putting them on at least 2 hemi chargers one a silver one and one a black one, both looked very sharp. And no it was not the blue protectant that was not washed off the narrow whites.........

The red line issue is settled...nope.

The slick issue is now the question.

The black wheels have probably too much off set, some mags or new rear wheels with about an inch less will allow the rear to come down more.

    Does it need to?

It is too high or just right?

WTF!!!, I love that car, I had a chance at one of those 20 years ago.
First, the ass is too high with the cheaters, shes showing too much leg, second those stock rims and caps are to die for, keep them around, you will miss them.
If she was mine I would keep her blackwall, stock caps and have a second set of rear rims to put some dot approved drag radials on her for the ocassional night of fun. What ever you do she sure is a sexy car, thanks for posting her.

Another thing I keep thinking about on he car, would getting the front end up higher do the trick.

I was looking at the cars in the Super Stock thread and most of them are a lot higher in the front than my car.

    Crank up the bars?

Thanks man..I miss that car..its in New England someplace now..It was a So Cal/Nor Cal Car all its life..It was found in the High Desert of So Cal pretty much a shell.Must have been an old race car because the inner fender wells were cut for headers. It got a 63 426, real Max Wedge Heads,Intake,Headers,11:1,Max Wedge Solid Cam.Car was a blast to drive

If I were doing it now, I would get the A+A Transmission repro Cross Ram.They make them for the 440's and they're more efficient than the originals.I was planning on reopening the filled cut outs on the inner fender wells and going with Fender well headers, but I sold it before I ever got that far.

I agree....I'm a big fan of the Cheater look, but that car has the original "Plain Jane" attitude.....it's just right. I'd put it back to back before things get out of hand and you start changing a whole bunch of things because something doesn't seem right....been there.

Well this will drive the black wheel fans nuts...

The Dodge now with American TTO's, a new retro Sun Tach, and Hurst Racing Tires all the way around the car.
