Question about '39-'40 ford dash

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tudorfritz, Sep 16, 2011.

  1. I have a friend with a '39 Ford tudor. The car has the original dash in it but someone butchered it up pretty good. So we were thinking about putting a '40 dash in the car. My question is will the '40 dash bolt in with out modifying it and are the windshield garnish moldings the same?

but you can make it fit,, anything...

  4. '39 was last year for the roll-out winshield, 40 was the first year for garnish moldings around the windshield. To use the '40 dash you'll either have to sacrifice the roll-out windshield or make a hold in the dash for the windshield regular mechanism.

  5. Thanks for the info, I now I can make it fit because I did put one in my Model A. I just wasn't sure how much difference there was between the '39 and '40.
