Question - 49 Pontiac Fender Skirts

I am interested in purchasing a set of fender skirts for my 49 Pontiac, but I am having a hard time figuring out how they attach at the top. Is there anyone with a 49 Pontiac with fender skirts that could help me out?

they have a large screw type attachment 49's and 50's are the same

There is a rod that protrudes about 1/2 inch from the top of the skirt, but I am not seeing what that rod would attach to on the inside of my fender.

im pretty sure you turn the rod and it traps the quarter panel lip between the skirt id have to look at my girlfriends 50 pontiac on the front and back of the wheel opening there is a bracket that holds the rods on the ends of the skirts
