They distract the staging lights so you can leave a little early. Its the 70s man. There's no rational to any of it.
I suppose that Grrrovy is approptiate. If to comprehend what I am endevoring to convey, or in layman's terms if you can dig it. I have no idea why someone would make one like that. If I were going to conject I would suppose that it was a style thing more than any other thing. That would be pure conjecture and we could discuss the subject on a more cosmic level if we had a couple of hits of purple microdot.
beaner, you got it, it's just gotta be drugs, and we all know that drugs and high-powered dragsters just don't mix. Stand well back people, there is no telling what may happen.
Dunno... but there was an altered here some time ago called 'White Wabbit'. I think the driver was Jormha Fudd, or something like that....
Ahh, the recreational pharmaceuticals of the 60's and 70's. Pretty crazy some of the stuff we tried and survived. Cannabis, mushrooms, ecstasy, mescaline, peyote, rush, speed, crank, cocaine, quaaludes, speed, and copious amounts of alcohol. With the exception of a drink now and then, I haven't put any of that stuff into my body for 35+ years, but I gotta say that I am quite pleased to have had those experiences.
You left out opiates in all forms and barbs. Reds and Whiskey, bad combination, ask anyone who knows me whether they still like me or not. I could start a D&AA thread out of this but I suppose that it would not be appropriate. "Hi, I am the 'beaner and I am really twisted" Jeem, I have never heard of them being used to confuse the lights on either end of the strip, I think it is just a sign of the times.
I'd imagine it was a "just because" type of thing. Wonder what car this was? All I know is....I like it.
"Mostly Maui Waui man, but it's got some Labrador in it." -- Cheech & Chong Not to say that the original designer was under the influence, but after watching that go round and round, one might be inclined... I kinda like it myself.
