Help! My powerglide has taken a dive. Low is fine,it won't upshift. I checked fluid, not burned. I adjusted the band, and rechecked it several times. It tries to shift, but goes back to low. I'm suspecting a stuck TV valve, or a stuck governer.Anyone have additional ideas?? BTW, the vacuum modulator,is holding mouth suction. Thanks:D Sparky shifts are you out there??

Check to make sure the throttle kick down isn't stuck and is properly adjusted. It's an easy place to start.

is it an aluminum or iron glide? the iron one has a habit of the drum bushing going bad and wiping out the valve body, drum, and sealing rings.

It's an aluminum glide ,the early model, with a rear pump. I'm dropping the pan,and tailshaft tomarrow. i'll check the valve body, for sticking valves. also i'll check the governer. I ordered a rebuild kit, just in case:D sparky
