The latch on my '51 Ford trunklid is shot and rather than replacing it, I'm thinking of going with a power trunk pull-down set up out of an 80-90s GM or Ford for something different.

Has anyone done this on a '49-51 Ford? Are there any years which are better than others when looking at a scrap yard? Smaller is better.

    Thanks

I have one from a 91 cadillac that I plan on using.

    Looks pretty simple.

IF any of you guys can get yours to work, please let me know...I'd pulled several from late model Caddys and simply cannot get them to work on my '55 Caddy...

Thanks guys. From talking to a couple of guys, the mid-90s GM units are smaller and will work best. I'll let you know how I make out.

I tried them on a couple of my customs back in the 80's-90's. They did not last long, even if I got them to work right. Not worth the effort, IMHO.
