I am converting my 2 way power seat to a 4 way power seat. I have purchased the motors, relays, switches along with the lifting mechanism. I will still need the mounting brackets that are attached to the bottom of the seat frame. Would anyone know if there is a part number associated with them? The obvious first question: does anyone have a set? Good possibility I will have to make them. Could anyone provide me with the dimensions?

I didn’t think the power seats came out till 57 in the turnpike cruisers , but i could be wrong.

You might need the whole thing to convert to a 4 way, when I had a 53 Olds I found a 2 way system and then shortly after found a 4 way and it was totally different if my memory is correct (over 20 years ago) and I would presume the Ford products would be the same.

I really don’t have a clue about a Merc, but that mechanism looks a lot like a 55-57 Thunderbird. Might be worth a look in one of those catalogs. I don’t recall the hold down in the bird, it’s been too many years since I had it out. It might be a start.

My '56 Vicky years ago had a '56 Merc electric seat.

The two way power track is close to the manual track but just with a motor but the 4 way is totally different since it goes up and down,55 to 56 parts should be able to work maybe with some modifications.

The diagram is page 115 from the 53-54 Body Parts book, showing that it was available in 1953. Also My 53' owner manual addresses the power seat option, for additional costs.

Thanks for the lead, if nothing else I could always cut them off the seat frame. Later years may have use the same brackets.

I have always found it interesting to see when each manufacture rolled out different options.

The earliest Mercury I can find is 1953. Not to say it didn't happen though.
