I am about to Flame my 59 Impala. Post Pics of yours or other Flamed cars so I can get some Ideas of what style I like.
Not HAMB friendly,... but back in my drinking days ( I am so glad they are over) this was like 1976 I had painted this car black a couple weeks before, My buddy Mark and I were toasted, it was early in the morning and we had just left the "club",.... on the way back we got to talking about flames,..... the next morning this is what the neighborhood woke up to,..... ( I still don't know how I feel about the flames, but the next owner loved them !)
My non HAMB friendly S-10 convertible from about 20 years back. Chevy, 327, powerglide, narrowed nine inch. It was a dark green 4cyl, 4 spd when I bought it new 6 months earlier. LOL
2002P51 Love those two in picture number 6 of your post. The first one (purple) is Andy Brizio's and the second one is Roy Brizio's. Both built by Roy, of course. Andy has driven his so much that it need to be freshened up a few years back. Great looking flamed rods.
Thanks. I shot that at the L.A.Roadster Show in '04. I just liked the way all those '32s were lined up.
A very rare sight, but I like to see smoke airbrushed on before flames are layed down. The closest thing to it I can find is the following picture. You could start out with a nice paint job on the front and as the flames turn into smoke, the back portion is the "charred" black primer.
heres a few.. and an older thread http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211188 -Anthony
A few of the ones I have painted, at least the traditional ones. You can also get into mutiple layers, tribal, beveled, tru fire, ect....
Always suprised that Pete's coupe never comes up on these flame threads,... The flame job on this car is just dead on.
